In accordance with CFISD’s LEAD Safely plan, the Berry Center will continue to require all guests and staff to wear a face mask while inside the facility and in event areas. The Berry Center is a CFISD facility and will therefore continue to follow CFISD’s guidelines and safety protocols.
On March 2, Gov. Greg Abbott rescinded the statewide mask order for the general public but directed public schools to follow TEA’s guidance. On March 3, TEA released updated public health guidance stating schools must continue to enforce wearing masks unless action is taken to eliminate or modify this requirement. CFISD consulted with local medical professionals who strongly recommend that we continue our health and safety protocols—including wearing masks.
Masks are one of the many protective measures (plastic shields and dividers, hand washing, sanitization of work and event areas, distancing, etc.) in place that have allowed us to keep our facility open, ensure guest and staff safety, and continue events. These protective measures are all taken into consideration when an individual test positive for COVID-19 to determine who are identified as close contacts and must quarantine during the contact tracing process. Removal of any of our measures (such as masks) would result in more students and staff quarantined.
By state law, use of tobacco products, including vapes and e-cigarettes is prohibited on school district property.

CLEAR BAG POLICY
In conjunction with the policies and procedures of Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Berry Center will implement a clear bag policy for large events such as concerts, graduations, and expos.
All bags and purses may be subject to search upon entrance. Diaper bags must follow the clear bag policy and size restrictions.
