MAKE IT BETTER EVERYDAY

I was lucky enough to recently attend my favorite annual food show for the catering world, the 2019 Catersource Convention & Tradeshow held in New Orleans, Louisiana this past February.

The annual Catersource Convention & Tradeshow is one the largest food and catering shows one can attend. Here are some fun facts about this year’s show:


• Over 5,400 Attendees

• Over 300 Exhibitors

• Over 100 Hours of Sessions


While spending time in the Big Easy, one of the greatest cities in America for amazing food and culture, I had the opportunity to sample some local cuisine in a high energy setting full of life. But most importantly, I was able to learn about new and popular trends and tons of ideas for positivity and growth in the workplace.


My favorite session at the Catersource Conference was called “Make It Better Every day,” also known as “The M.I.B.E. Tribe” #MIBE. The speaker for the MIBE session was Anthony Lambatos, owner of Footers Catering, voted as one of the top caterers in Denver, Colorado. The MIBE Tribe’s mission is to constantly improve the daily experiences of both the guests and staff to have a constant cycle of positivity and growth and “make it better every day”. They believe in “Heart Leadership”, which consists of four tenants: Lead, Love, MIBE & Tribe. To Lead is to value people more for more than the job they do. To Love is to open your heart to be authentic, genuine, and vulnerable. Within MIBE, there is always more to learn and always room to improve. Within your Tribe, work doesn’t have to feel like work when you have a solid team working together.


I want to strive to apply all of these principles here at the Berry Center and would like for all of us to join the MIBE Tribe! #BerryCenterMIBETribe
